South Willesborough and Newtown Council are deeply saddened to learn of the death of

Her Royal Highness Elizabeth the Second. 08th September 2022

We recognise the faithful service the Queen gave this Country. We offer our sincerest condolences to both the Royal Family and all our residents who will share in the mourning of this great Monarch.  An official book of Condolence is open at Baxandale Lodge from 10am to 2pm and from 5pm to 9pm for residents to sign, this will be archived with the palace.

All official Council meetings will be cancelled during this period of mourning.  The Chair of SWANCC and its Council is available to attend any community groups and bring a reflection upon the Queen’s great service.

For residents wishing to lay flowers to commemorate the Queen these can be laid at the Memorial Wheels on Newtown Green and then will form part of the Ceremony of the Laying of Flowers the day after the state funeral.
